Ministry of Justice and Human Rights has officially passed Law No. 5/2014 on State Civil Apparatus on January 15, 2014. Wahiduddion Adams, Director General of Justice at the Ministry, mentioned that both the President and the House of Representatives have signed the Law. The Law regulates the composition of government officials, classifying it into civil servant and government officials with work contract (PPPK). T he Law defines civil servant as the government's permanent employee, while PPPK is defined as employees recruited based on the needs of certain government institution. Despite its similarities, both positions differ in terms of employee identification number and pension benefits. The Law regulates that civil servants are entitled to receive employee identification number and pension benefits while PPPK has no right to such benefits.
